Teen Hand-Forged Pendant Necklace Experience
Give your teen the opportunity to work with real tools, learn real blacksmithing skills, and create something they'll actually want to wear!
In this hands-on experience, teens will take raw steel, heat it in the forge, and transform it into their own custom hand-forged pendant necklaces. No previous blacksmithing experience is needed—we'll guide them through the entire process in a safe, structured, and encouraging environment.
What They'll Do
Each student will have the opportunity to:
- Heat and forge steel using traditional blacksmithing techniques
- Hammer, shape, and texture the metal to create their own designs
- Learn how different hammering techniques can completely change the appearance of their piece
- Smooth and finish each pendant for a polished, wearable result
- Add their own creative touches to make each pendant unique
- Finish their creations with leather necklace cords
There are no cookie-cutter projects here! Because each pendant is individually forged and designed, no two pieces will be exactly alike.
More Than Just Making Something Cool
Working at the forge gives teens an opportunity to develop skills that go far beyond blacksmithing. They'll practice creativity, patience, focus, problem-solving, and confidence while experiencing the satisfaction that comes from making something with their own hands.
And for a few hours, they get to put down the screens and do something real.
By the end of the experience, each student will leave with at least 3 finished pendant necklaces they made themselves—something they can wear, keep as a reminder of what they accomplished, or give to someone as a meaningful handmade gift.
No experience necessary. Just come ready to forge, create, and have fun!
Age & Class Requirements
The minimum age is 12. Please contact us to discuss possible exceptions.
Important Information:
- A signed liability waiver is required. Waivers will be provided at the beginning of class, and a preliminary copy is available in the FAQ section of our website.
- A minimum of 3 participants is required for this class.

We take the safety of every student extremely seriously. Participants are expected to listen carefully, follow instructor directions, and use tools and equipment responsibly at all times. Intentionally unsafe or seriously disruptive behavior may result in dismissal from the class without a refund.
They won't just leave with something they made—they'll leave knowing, “I made that.”
