Beginner Knife-Making Class (9+ Hours)
This class will be held at:

This 9-hour beginner-level class is perfect for those with no prior experience, as well as anyone who has dabbled in knife-making and wants to build a stronger foundation. By the end of the class, students will have the confidence and core skills needed to begin creating their own knives.
What you’ll learn:
- Basic forging techniques
- Knife design fundamentals
- A basic heat-treatment process
- Grinding and sharpening techniques
- Attaching a wooden scale handle
We will be using Coal Ironworks induction forges during this class. Please note that these machines are not recommended for individuals with pacemakers or metal plates in their hands. That said, they are incredible tools to work with, and we’re confident you’ll enjoy using them.
A signed liability waiver is required to participate. Waivers will be provided and signed at the beginning of the class. A copy is also available for review under the FAQ section of this webpage.
A minimum of three participants is required for the class to run. If the minimum is not met, the class will be rescheduled for a later date.
