Monday & Tuesday, July 13th & 14th, 2026 (9am - 12:30pm) - TEEN EXPERIENCE - AX-MAKING & LEATHER COVER
In our Ax Making Experience, you’ll craft your very own ax from start to finish—no prior experience required. This hands-on class is designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike who want to work with steel, heat, and tools.
You’ll begin with a pre-cut piece of high-carbon steel shaped for an ax head, allowing you to focus on the most exciting and rewarding parts of the process. Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, you’ll learn how to:
- Drill and prepare your ax for a handle
- Shape and refine the cutting edge using the grinder
- Heat treat your steel in the forge for strength and durability
- Clean and finish the metal for a professional look
- Cut, shape, and fit your handle material
- Assemble and secure your completed ax
By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with a fully assembled, functional ax and leather cover—and the satisfaction of knowing you built it yourself.
No experience necessary. All materials and safety equipment are provided.
This class is for those 12 to 18.
A signed liability waiver will be required to take this class. A class participant under the age of 18 must have a liability waiver signed by their parent or guardian. Waivers will be distributed and signed at the beginning of class. A copy for preliminary review is located under the FAQ section of this website. We take the safety of your young adults extremely seriously. Each young adult is responsible for listening to and following directions at all times. Unruly or intentional unsafe behavior may result in the child being dismissed from the class without a refund.
