Monday & Tuesday, July 6th & 7th, 2026 (9am - 12:30pm) - TEEN EXPERIENCE - KNIFE-MAKING & LEATHER SHEATH
Give your teen the chance to step away from screens and create something real.
In this hands-on Teen Knife Making Experience, students will build their own custom knife and craft a matching leather sheath—learning practical skills they’ll be proud of for years to come. This class is designed specifically for teens, with a structured, beginner-friendly approach and close instructor guidance every step of the way.
Students will start with a high-carbon steel blank and learn how to:
- Drill and prepare their knife handle
- Shape and refine the knife using the grinder
- Heat treat the blade in the forge for strength and durability
- Attach and finish custom handle scales
- Clean and apply finishes to their completed knife
Then, they’ll take it a step further by creating a custom leather sheath to safely carry and protect their blade. This portion introduces basic leatherworking skills, adding another layer of craftsmanship to the experience.
This class helps teens:
- Build confidence through hands-on achievement
- Learn patience, focus, and problem-solving
- Gain exposure to real-world tools and craftsmanship
- Walk away with something they made themselves
Safety is our top priority. All tools and processes are carefully supervised, and all materials and safety equipment are provided.
By the end of the experience, each student leaves with a completed knife and handmade leather sheath—and a sense of pride that’s hard to replicate anywhere else.

This class is for those 12 to 18.
A signed liability waiver will be required to take this class. A class participant under the age of 18 must have a liability waiver signed by their parent or guardian. Waivers will be distributed and signed at the beginning of class. A copy for preliminary review is located under the FAQ section of this website. We take the safety of your young adults extremely seriously. Each young adult is responsible for listening to and following directions at all times. Unruly or intentional unsafe behavior may result in the child being dismissed from the class without a refund.
