WHAT IS THE MINIMUM AGE FOR SOMEONE TO TAKE THE CLASS?
- The technically is no minimum age. However, I have found kids should be at least 8 years old or older (and with parental help/supervision) for some of our simpler classes (knife experiences), and 12 or so for some of our longer than 6-hour long classes. However, I find every child is different. Some factors that help in making your decision are the child's motivation, ability to listen and obey directions, physical size and overall hand/eye coordination with tools, in particular a hammer. I do suggest children be at least 15 years old or older for the (9) hour introduction to Knife Making Class. Also, please keep in mind kids younger than 15 in our traditional classes do need to have a parent with them. Some of the equipment, if used improperly, can be very dangerous. So, it is the parent's responsibility to help their child use the equipment safely. These classes generally are great classes to do with a parent and child together. If a parent and child are doing the class together, and are making just one project together, it is just the cost of one class. If you have any questions about your specific child, please let me know!

- Gift Certificates can be used for almost any class. We typically have 1-4 classes each year, usually taught by special guest instructors, that the Gift Certificates cannot be used for. Please note, as a general framework, we work really hard to work with and be fair to people. However, we are a small business, and in just 2025 alone, we have experienced a significant amount in loss due to last minute cancellations.
